The Loews Coronado Bay Resort is surrounded by water on a private peninsula in San Diego Bay. The California-Mediterranean style resort has 440 guest rooms, a private marina, three pools, five tennis courts, a health club, an herb garden used to grow fresh ingredients for the chef and Venetian-style gondola cruises on the premises. The resort also offers a complete activity schedule for guests including a scavenger hunt, ping-pong by the pool, mini-golf, basketball, poolside chair massage and Friday night marshmallow roasts on the beach. Activities available for a fee include a sunset sailing cruise, beach yoga, Tai Chi, Kung Fu and surfing lessons. Guests who choose to explore beyond the resort can take the resort's complimentary shuttle to the Coronado Visitors Center and two San Diego hot spots. One hot spot is Seaport Village located harbor side in San Diego and features 4 major restaurants, 75 specialty shops and 13 eateries. The other stop is Horton Plaza in the city's Gaslamp District. RRR's Market Deli offers picnic baskets, box lunches and deli sandwiches for the beach. La Cantina offers south-of-the-border fare poolside. Cays Lounge has indoor and outdoor terrace seating with a view of Coronado Bay Bridge. The lounge offers light fare and cocktails.
